A tribute to Donkey Kong Country annoucement trailer

Do you remember the Donkey Kong Country game released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in the 90’s ? This game was a instant classic which I’ve played a lot in that time 😀

Well today, I’m much impress to discover that a high quality remix of this game as been completely remade by only 1 guy. Igor F. who worked on his free time during holidays and after his day job developed this game alone and made everything from scratch (modeling, texturing, animating, sounds, etc). Only the music isn’t made by him.

Of course, it took several years to complete and the game has been developed with UDK. To found out more about A tribute to Donkey Kong Country game, head over here 🙂 A tribute to Donkey Kong Country is a free, unofficial and fan-made game for PC. He will release on December 1st the first world of the game that will include 8 new levels!

The game is 13 000+ lines of code, 1 000+ game assets including 20+ characters with 120+ animations, 200+ 3D objects, 400+ textures, 30+ particles effects, 12 levels just to name few things…

DM-Retreat, final available!

My mapper journey ends with the release of this map. Retreat is my last map for UT3.

I’ve released 20 maps in all so I can say after all those years at mapping, it was a cool experience 😀 I’ve met many cool and smart peoples in all those years, in particular, the UOF peoples which as help me a lot become a better mapper. We had fun, teasing each other. I have in mind so many moments of pure laugh… THX YOU m8’s !

Now back to the map lol… all map info is available here. The final map as also been release at Epic and UOF 🙂

Unreal Tournament 4, official Enforcer and Flak Cannon!

UT4 have now official weapons which are the Enforcer and the Flak Cannon 😀

The Enforcer is Gooba’s concept and Tidal Blast is doing the modeling. The Flak Cannon is KazeoHin-TechAE concept. Below, the concept of each weapons. I must admit… they look fantastic even the Flak ammo 😀

You can also watch the full episode on Twitch which cover the very early UT4 launcher, the Flak Cannon and more!

DM-Retreat, new and last map for UT3!

All info available here 😀

Brief, a nonexistent UT3 community, not enough feedback from the community for my last released maps and with UT4 on the horizon, I have no interest in continuing to develop maps for UT3. Sad but true 😦 Retreat will be my last map for UT3, hence the map name. I won’t release a beta or a pre-final version for this map but rather release the final version when ready.

I’ve released 19 maps in all 🙂 Mapping was a cool experience but now, I’m back to playing.

The only “active” forums is Epic so this thread as been created today.

Unreal Tournament 4 Logo unveiled!

At last, UT4 first official announcement by Epic is the new game logo 😀 Epic Games art director Chris Perna unveiled the logo for the new Unreal Tournament! Long-time community member Henrik Ryosa created the logo and spent a lot of time iterating on the design. Henrik created this thread and will provide the new logo in various formats and linking wallpapers from both Epic and the community 🙂

Sampa – São Paulo futurista by Thiago Klafk

A new UE4 scene call Sampa – São Paulo futurista by Thiago Klafk. I’m always amazed to see such beautiful scene made with the Unreal Engine 🙂 Found out more amazing scenes from him at his homepage here 😀

Arbor Vitae by Philip Klevestav and Helder Pinto

Arbor Vitae is a UDK project made by Philip Klevestav and Helder Pinto, both very talented designer and working in the gaming industry since years.

When I’ve saw that project released in November 2013 at Epic, Mapcore and Polycount forums, I was simply amazed and hoping there would be a video for this project. Months have passed and there isn’t any and there won’t be neither. So, I post pics instead so you can discover the project and also download the level here to see how it was done 🙂
