DM-Grinder, alpha 1 available!

One of my Unreal Tournament 1999 favorite is DM-Grinder. I converted the original map few times to found the right UT4 scale. The actual scale is 3 times the original!

Alpha 1 is available to those who have access to my maps. This video is my private Alpha 2.

So in this version, it’s the original UT99 geometry and lighting. I did made very minor BSP changes. Still, BSP wise, the map remain 98% original. I did few weapon changes and ammo distribution. I didn’t waste time putting materials on the surfaces and leave the default engine checkerboard material because I don’t know if I’ll keep in BSP state or replace the BSP with Oblevia assets or simply mesh it out like I do habitually with current static meshes.

UT3 levels video in 4K

Since I upload all my videos in 4K for finished UT4 levels, for pure nostalgia, I thought of revisiting the first one I made by upconverting it to 4K and reupload it 🙂 Stevelois UT3 levels was my first YouTube video ever 😀

DM-Engine Room, Sector B scene

I just upload a brand new demo scene of my latest level DM-Engine Room, Sector B! A small and fun little duel level 😀 There is no release date. For those who stay invisible that don’t bother to support me, I’m waiting for your comments on DM-A v A and DM-SmartShop before releasing any new content. Meanwhile, enjoy the video.

DM-A v A, final available!

DM-A v A final is there 😀 Again, special THX to Kevin Hartmann, Mac Apex, Mic and Wulfgar 63 for testing previous releases. As always, those who have provide feedback are credited in the readme 🙂

DM-A v A, PR2 available!

DM-A v A PR2 is now ready to download 😀 Next version is the final one so it’s now your time to contribute to get a more polished level. This is what as been done since PR1 :

  • Add few crates in the Shock / Sniper area.
  • Add a ceiling light in the vent, I forgot that for PR1 😛 That vent is a shortcut from the Link area to the Shock area and player must crouch to travel it.
  • Add 2 vials in each corner on the level. Some on crates, some very close to the wall.
  • Add blocking volumes in few areas for better flow.
  • Fix very bad BSP shadows in 2 areas.
  • Lower the generator sound radius and volume a bit (areas where you see active control panels).
  • Remade a lighting pass (production quality).
  • Tweak lighting.
  • Tweak textures alignments all around the level.
  • Update preview screen.
