A ‘real life’ versus ‘real time’ video of the lobby at Barratt London’s “The Courthouse” on Horseferry road, London using UE4 real time technology. It’s uncanny how similar the virtual footage is to a video of the lobby in real life !

Since the game is a close collaboration between Epic and the community, it is very interesting to see how things are made and how it evolve over time. While the final version of the game is planned in few years (who really knows anyway), historically speaking, it will be interesting to quickly access all the game content since the beginning of the devloppement.

Ornstein and Smough hall scene by Alex W
Alex W show us his first finished project with UE4 🙂 This is first attempt in recreating a level from the famous game Dark Souls. It’s the hall in which you fight the infamous boss Dragonslayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough.

UT4 at GDC
Today is a very important day not only for UT but also for UE4. At GDC (Game Developers Conference), the last UT update includes a revamped launcher, a new customized Unreal Editor specifically for UT4, and the new Unreal Tournament marketplace. It also includes the Malcolm and Necris characters, as well as Outpost 23, a very beautiful Epic map. The UT marketplace features the game’s first cosmetic items (sweet hats!) and the free custom DM map ‘Lea Observatory’ made by Neil ‘Captain Migraine’ Moore. As for UE4, Tim Sweeney, the founder of Epic games announce that Unreal Engine 4 is now available to everyone for free 😀 Quite interesting and very exiting news if you ask me ! Some links now 😉
Thundercrash by Archer6621
Thundercrash was another music track I was following from Shaad Alaka, aka Archer6621 on Unreal Tournament 4 forums who just release the final version 😀 He made 2 versions; a loopable version for mappers and a non-looping version for music listeners. Both available in MP3 and WAV formats. A very generous and wise move 🙂

What is UT
Zaccubus made another video which explain what UT is. For veterans, you know all about it but for new players, it is very well explained 😀 Also, Zaccubus talk about other important and new things that come with UT4 like the making process (Epic and the community), the install process, the marketplace, the weekly updates on Twitch, and many other things 🙂
