UT4 Converter 0.9.2 by xtremexp released !

For anyone who would like to convert old Unreal / UT’s maps to UT4, this is the tool to use 😀 The tool isn’t perfect BUT is extremely helpful. To learn more, head over xtremexp Epic thread.

Epic Games and Quixel join forces to empower creators

This is quite a biiiiiiiiiiiiig news for anyone who would like to use AAA assets but don’t have the money to afford them 😀

Like in my case, I map for fun and always like to use new assets in a new map. Therefore, since the UT4 editor is really old, it’s quite a pain & a long process to recreate everything from scratch in the editor since I simply can’t export / import them easily from UE4 Editor to UT4 Editor, specially the materials. And HQ materials are very complicated to recreate when starting from scratch 😦 Here is the original announce :

“Our mission at Quixel has always been to make the world more accessible for everyone through ultra-high resolution scanning. As part of Epic Games, we’re now able to accelerate this vision as we grow the Megascans library, speed up the development of Bridge and Mixer, and improve integrations with all major 3D software and renderers,” said Quixel Co-founder Teddy Bergsman.

As part of making the Quixel Megascans library of more than 10,000 assets free for all use with Unreal Engine, ten high-resolution packs have been shared today for free on the Unreal Engine Marketplace, as well as assets from the popular Iceland collection used in the “Rebirth” cinematic short. Additional asset packs will be made available for free on the Marketplace at a future date within the Unreal Engine 4.24 release timeframe.”

Announcing the Epic Games Store

For the past five years, we’ve been building tools enabling Epic to bring our games directly to players. We built the Epic Games launcher on PC and Mac featuring Fortnite and Unreal Engine; we built a worldwide digital commerce ecosystem supporting dozens of payment methods; and we gained great economies of scale thanks to Fortnite’s growth.

As developers ourselves, we wanted two things: a store with fair economics, and a direct relationship with players. And we’ve heard that many of you want this too!

Soon we’ll launch the Epic Games store, and begin a long journey to advance the cause of all developers. The store will launch with a hand-curated set of games on PC and Mac, then it will open up more broadly to other games and to Android and other open platforms throughout 2019.

I am very happy today to see that my blog has been visited by 375 156 visitors since 8 years 😀 8 years that I shared with my visitors what is fascinating me in the Unreal universe. I did not think at first that I would even reach 50,000 visitors, thus reaching this number is very cool 🙂

I wanted to thank my visitors, veterans and newcomers. You encourage me to continue to share all these new discoveries and to spread information about my personal projects, tutorials.

My only wish is that I would like to read more comments from you, my visitors 😉

Je suis content de constater aujourd’hui que mon blog a été visité par plus de 375 156 visiteurs et ce, depuis 8 ans 😀 8 années que je partage avec mes visiteurs ce qui me fascine dans l’univers d’Unreal. Je ne pensais pas au début que j’allais même atteindre 50 000 visiteurs, donc, d’avoir atteint ce chiffre est très satisfaisant 🙂

Je tenais à remercier mes visiteurs, vétérans et nouveaux venus de votre présence. Vous m’encouragez à continuer de partager toutes ces nouvelles trouvailles ainsi qu’à divulguer des informations sur mes projets personnels, tutoriels.
