This is another map that as been submitted to the “Leveldesign.nl first 20 brush contest. The idea behind this contest is to see what mappers from different communities can produce when following some very limiting rules. I did a match on this one & it’s a fun one indeed & also look good 😀

Pretty simple industrial Duel map created for the leveldesign.nl 20 brush contest. This map has 16 brushes, 4 InterpActors and the sky dome Static Mesh.
The layout isn’t very complex, due to the brush limitations I had to avoid using too many slanted surfaces for ramps and floors, but it’s still quite fun and has plenty of Z-Axis.
Don’t expect next-gen graphics and effects in this map, but despite the brush limit I tried to make it look as pretty as possible. Some textures (I used Hourences’ HourKraden set) have been upscaled a bit too much, but I didn’t have time to search for suitable replacements. I had to rush a bit to meet the deadline, so there are some little bits that I would have liked to refine a bit more, but overall the map is pretty complete.

This map is an entry for leveldesign.nl’s 20 brush contest. Maps to be designed with 20 brushes or less. Saturation has been completed with 18 brushes and 2 lifts (count as a brush each) I wanted to do something different, colorful and fun.

While the first public version released on UOF was very cool, I can say that after testing various beta / RC releases, seeing the polishing that as been made, I can state the map is a blast 😀
Not only it look like a excellent Quake map under UT3 but you also feel the Quake atmosphere while playing by the announcer, sounds & all custom stuff he add into this map. Brief, a kickass map ! THX Seb 😉
I give it a try yesterday & I can say it’s a cool map. I like many things in it but I have few issues with it.
I didn’t leave any feedback / comments since 95% of the time when I post something on BU, it isn’t worth my time. At least, that’s the impression the “old” members there give to me so I have better things to do…

A sweet old school type map with the classic blue + yellow & orange lighting (I miss those) 😀
Layout is really great (the BSP work is really cool, it’s quite unusual I must say), it look, play & flow very well, atmosphere is top ! Custom jumpads are also a nice touch 🙂
Only thing I found it could be bit better is some material alignment at some spots but it’s very minor. This level is a must in my book so grab the map at those places : Official or BU or Epic.
