I present you another HQ free assets pack. The free Foliage Starter Kit by Philipp Nasahl 😀

Foliage Starter Kit is a package especially designed for the UE4. It will give you the ability to create awesome forest / parks / garden scenes with a great variation due to the different material parameters in the Material Instances. That means that you can change the summer trees to winter or autumn trees with just changing a parameter in the Material Instance. Moreover you can modify the wind effects like the strength / variation and also the sway amount of the trees. You are also able to add snow and a variation color which will change with the mesh position. Another feature is that the ground plants are interactive. So they will move / bend when the player walks over them. All meshes are pretty low poly so that you can use them in a very large scale. Entire landscapes can be filled with them without great performance losses.

A brand new HQ free modular caves / rocks mini pack by Yoeri ‘Luos‘ Vleer 😀

This pack has been created as a small free version of the full pack that will be on the UE4 marketplace in a few days 🙂 The purchasable pack will have 450 meshes and much more! The promotion video is damn nice I must say! Here is the download link.

This free package will work identical to the big package and contains:

– 1 simplified master material (purchasable pack offers more features).
– 2 new materials. (4096 res, Albedo, Roughness, Normal).
– Few new Material instances.
– 1 new Material function.
– Material for mushrooms + colored material instances.
– 25 new meshes consisting out of 6 modular pieces (I, L, T, X-section, entrance and transition mesh) and 19 prop pieces. (2 Columns, 1 Arch, 2 Floors, 2 Mite/tites, 3 Rocks, 9 Mushrooms).

A little post to let my readers know there is a new page under the UT4 section 🙂

I think that CTF players will be more than happy to easily discover all UT4 CTF custom maps from 1 simple page 😀 This page will contain the complete list for UT4 CTF custom maps. The idea is to regroup the finals and all the others (Alpha / Beta / Release Candidate) in 1 page like I did with my All UT3 CTF / Greed custom maps page. You will find a gigantic list of finals and work in progress (non finals) maps 🙂

Megascans jungle by Quixel Suite

What can I say more than………………….. WOW !!! 😀 What can be done with Quixel Suite is simply astonishing. Combine with the UE4 capabilities, it can’t be better than this ! It is 100% created with Megascans service. Megascans service is a massive online library of thousands of physically based material scans and fully scanned 3D assets. Real life versus real time

A ‘real life’ versus ‘real time’ video of the lobby at Barratt London’s “The Courthouse” on Horseferry road, London using UE4 real time technology. It’s uncanny how similar the virtual footage is to a video of the lobby in real life !

A little post to let my readers know there is a new UT4 section which is a mix of external links and pages on my site. At this moment, there is what you’ll find :

Custom maps fav.
This page will contain all maps that I’ll consider as ‘a must’ for UT4. There is only 1 custom map that is final at the moment but there are many, many to come under the WIP section 😀

Custom music fav.
Even if the actual game status is in pre-alpha, incredible music tracks as been released. I can’t imagine how many awesome music tracks I’ll enjoy listening in the upcoming years of UT4 !

Remakes for UT4
Same idea as my All UT99 / UT200x remakes for UT3 page. But this time, it will contain more than maps… expect to have the complete list of remakes for UT4 which will contain maps, vehicles, weapons and so on.

The official guides to learn to play the game. Even for experienced players, there are new moves to learn 😉

Official content
Since the game is a close collaboration between Epic and the community, it is very interesting to see how things are made and how it evolve over time. While the final version of the game is planned in few years (who really knows anyway), historically speaking, it will be interesting to quickly access all the game content since the beginning of the devloppement.

Ornstein and Smough hall scene by Alex W

Alex W show us his first finished project with UE4 🙂 This is first attempt in recreating a level from the famous game Dark Souls. It’s the hall in which you fight the infamous boss Dragonslayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough.
