About

Welcome to Stevie’s corner !!

At the beginning…

First, a player. I played Unreal in 1998. At that time, I was 26 and was automatically addicted to that game! Then, jumped to UT when it came out in 1999 and play all following UT’s. Except clan based levels, I can say I’ve played pretty much every custom levels that as been released since UT99 to UT4 on Beyond Unreal forums and Epic forums, which, all combined, is well, hummm… a lot 😮

Second, a tester. Since UT99, I test UT stuff, helping the community. I often had the opportunity to play magnificent levels for private testing. Sadly, many didn’t get release to the public. I was many times approached by level designers / MOD leaders to help them by contributing in a way or another. For example, I was very implicated in all Unreal Old Friends map packs for UT3 🙂

After, a UT3 level designer. In October 2008, I started to play with the UT3 Editor. I just wanted to build something for my own fun and also to be able to understand why level designers couldn’t do this or that based on my feedback. In the end, I’ve made 20 levels for UT3 😀 While making levels, learned things that was important to me, I’ve decided to share my knowledge by making tutorials. So, I’ve become a tutorial maker.

When UT4 was officially announced, I started to play with the UT4 Editor and share my levels with the community. Sadly, the game was officially abandoned January 24 2023 😦 For me, level design as always been a hobby. I still make levels in my free time & I make them simply for the love of making them. Until DM-Alpu 2050, I shared automatically any new levels with everyone. I have stopped sharing them automatically. Now, I share them only on demand. If you want to play my levels, check my levels page for the details.

As for Stevie’s corner, started as a simple post on Epic UT3 forums, it became extremely popular and many users suggested me to make a blog. I’ve followed their suggestion, then, Stevie’s corner blog was born in September 2009. After, it became a website. Stevie’s corner is dedicated to Unreal Engine, Unreal Development Kit (UDK) and also Unreal Tournament 99 / 2004 / III / 4. I love the Unreal universe! You understand that I’m in the Unreal word since 1998 and seeing so much stuff (private and public) I thought that I could share stuff that I classify to be way above the average. I promote / share others projects + share my own things. The goal of Stevie’s corner is to put everything I like in regard of the Unreal universe in 1 spot.

To finish… the guy real name behind Stevie’s corner is Steve Loiselle and my common username on most sites is Stevelois like on ArtStation, Deviantart and Discord. My native language is French. My English is very average but I do what I can to make myself understand.

  1. Hi Steve,

You have a very nice collection of Unreal-related stuff! I just dropped by from the Unreal Tournament forums, since I recognized in you another faithful fan of the Unreal universe! I’ve been playing the Unreal series since 2000 as well, especially UT99.

  4. Hey Steve, it’s been a while! I suddenly thought about getting back into level/game design and went back to check out the old UOF forum. I was happy to see it’s still around and that you’re still making maps. I subscribed to your YouTube channel. DM-Engine looks great!

    1. Hello! Yep, a huuuuge while! UOF is still up but dead since years. I’m the only one remaining who jumped to UT4 and release maps even in 2024. Hope to read more comments from ya 😀

  5. Steve! Glad you are doing well, and to this day!

You blow me away! Everyone quit the scene back in 2023 (I looked at every UT3 site hosting mods and have not received new content, even from my buddy who I Co-Dev’d with the last minute of this game’s life) – I wish to hear more from you

I am looking to host the entire of your collection and host this into an archive (a mirror)

Keeping your files Public or not, your choice, but it is called SKAARJNET and resides in UT99 forums currently (lowkey I will mention this archive as hosting one specific thing, but it is a multitude including websites (for offline browsing too, only if necessary), I plan to host your site as a copy too, If you wish)

    https://ut99.org/viewtopic.php?t=16976

Known (or not known yet) to backup all of Euchreplayer23 & HEDRumple’s stuff (in its absolutely entirety, minus PS3), 99% of Hedsteem (but a few UT2004 stuff)

UT3 PC wise, it can be rounded to a 100

Although not clear yet (and never to know the answer) – 100% of Skaa3z’s custom characters (will require a repack, for now it is hidden in the dump labeled 19286)

My last ambitious effort was backing up https://medor.no-ip.org/ – Medor’s site (290 GB, minus redirect) – For perspective, this is more than the entirety of UT-Files, just in UT99/Unreal98 content

I forwarded a copy of this message to your mail, I also sent a request on Discord if you want to keep contact

Thank You for the support, I am looking to save this game and your tutorials and previous efforts for the new generation even 10 years onwards, I am young and interested like a puppy – again I’ll be eternally glad to hear from you – Answer if you want to opt-in

  6. Hello, Steve! I’ve been a fan of Unreal Tournament since 2000. I came across your page while searching for new UT4 and UT3 maps. I was impressed by the photos and videos of your maps, as well as those of other authors you’ve tagged.
