In the Rhia Valley, a village began to settle. However, the inhabitants were forced to stop their settlement and leave due to a lack of building materials.

Details
Layout ; I was inspired to create a natural environment that allows the player extensive freedom of movement.
Gameplay ; The level is mainly composed of two sectors. The first, smaller, provides enclosed spaces and is the only one to have a lift (super cool for air attacks) as well as a pair of boots. The second, much larger, allows for long-range shooting as well as numerous vertical combat opportunities. Boots are essential to dominate this vast sector, especially for taking the KEG and/or the Redeemer. Great fun with the Let’s Bounce mutator if you want to jump around like rabbits without being restricted by the lack of boots (but it takes away the strategic aspect of getting them).
Visuals ; All the assets for this new level come from Science Fiction Valley Village. I took inspiration from the demo to create my own environment that is both natural and sci-fi. I opted for a large open environment with plenty of vertical movement possibilities.
The level feature the awesome music track ‘Underworld 2’ by Necto Ulin coming from his Unreal Tournament 99 remixes album.
Note, for all my levels I use Temporal AA since it offers the best visuals.

Je pense que c’est une de mes maps favorites elle est excellente !! Ce souci du details avec les habitations troglodytes , l’hélice dans un coin ou une petite moto dans un canyon . Visuellement très agréable et chouette à parcourir j’adore ! Ça fait plaisir de voir un peu le ciel de nouveau 😀 chapeau !

Steve, the map is beautiful! We really needed another player in the map because of size but play was still lots of fun with 3 players. We might consider throwing a bot in next time. The layout is fantastic. Need more time in game to work out some strategies, but I know we’re gonna enjoy this one for a long time. I love Picard and this has a similar feel, and yet completely different as well. I look forward to more time in this one and will make more comments as we progress. Thanks for this great addition to your repertoire of maps.

Finally had time to play it. Visually beautiful as always! I love these outdoor settings. I like the multi-level aspect and hopping between levels to either chase down opponents, or to get away from someone chasing me.

This is a stunning map with an incredible vertical scale that just begs to be explored. The story of the deserted settlement is told through abandoned bunkers and cliffside dwellings, the various items left in disarray, and in the rich details of the wind turbines in disrepair, with their blades strewn about the upper portions of the canyon.
Snipers will find a welcome home hiding in the vegetation of the cliffs surrounding the valley floor. The one set of jump boots provided will elevate players to a good height for this purpose, but the translocator really shines on this map for vertical travel. With it, players can reach the very top, providing an eagle eye view of the entire valley and allowing sniping down into both playing areas.
Players should be wary while seeking cover or waiting for items to spawn inside the bunkers. Although unable to shoot through the loopholes, they are still vulnerable to outside weapons fire, so players may find themselves under attack while thinking they are safe 😮
Cover can be found behind bunkers and storage tanks that are close to the cliff walls, with some also having health vials to help recover from the ever-present danger of snipers.
Overall, this map is a blast to play on, and a tremendous addition to Steve’s already amazing collection.

I played this map a few times. It is a magnificent map, very large while every inch is detailed, this makes it very emersive while playing it! It’s mainly outside in a canyon type environment. It will be good for many players, but with 3 players it works well too.
It will take a while before I know my way, I get lost often. I was surprised that you could go all the way up the canyon to find a sweet sniping spot. But also on the valley floor there are lot’s of places to discover. Places to hide from the snipers above 🙂

Hi Steve,played the Rhia Valley map,and it‘s a beautiful,very detailed map. For me personally a little too big,but I threw in a bot of six and had a fun afternoon.The map has lot‘s of hiding places in a large open environment,and is well balanced.
Overall, a gem as always…

this is phenomenal work here. stunning visuals. just unreal.. so many places to visit in the map. i was exploring.. its like an adventure… every turn find something. mind-blowing. game play is awesome. lots of sneaky spots.
