Sector A7 is the 7th sector of the vast S.M.C. (Sevy Military Complex) complex. A special sector because it is in the middle of a lava region!

Details
Layout ; DM-S.M.C. A7 layout is base on the classic level DM-Training Day with a twist. 3 levels was planned with those assets. So far, in order of release, I’ve made DM-S.M.C. 65 and DM-S.M.C. A4, this one completing the trilogy.
Gameplay ; This level focuses on 1on1 matches but can also be fun with 3 players or 4 in TDM. If the player goes under the bridge in the central area to retrieve the vest armor, he must move quickly because he will take damage, after all, he is in the lava… If the player falls off the bridge, he can escape by taking the ramps. The vest armor is a reward item to try to retrieve, it is also a good trap 😉
Visuals ; The S.M.C. series of levels offers different aspects despite the environment in general being designed from the same asset library. DM-S.M.C. 65 being the first of the levels, uses a rather clean environment. DM-S.M.C. A4, the second level, incorporates new assets not used in DM-S.M.C. 65 and then a rock section was added. With DM-S.M.C. A7, the 3rd level of the series, lava is part of the scenery and adds a “plus” to the gameplay.
The level feature the awesome music track ‘Lock’ by Necto Ulin coming from his Unreal Tournament 99 remixes album.
Note, for all my levels I use Temporal AA since it offers the best visuals.

J’aime bien en fait ! Je m’attendais à plus grand, je ne suis pas forcément fan des petites arènes mais en fait ça l’a rend très dynamique, et il faut être sans cesse sur ses gardes. La lave propose un petit challenge cool ” vais-je récupérer le bouclier en sacrifiant mes petits PV restants ou pas ? ” Bref très sympa 🙂

We played this and it was truly fast and furious! Great for 3 players. We had quite a bit of back and forth gameplay it was a challenge to keep Mic in check. Enjoyed the layout and beautiful design. Thank you for another map to enjoy! Always look forward to your releases!

S.M.C. A7 continues the gritty but colorful industrial textures of the previous two maps in this series. This is a tight level that is good for duels or three-player (at most) deathmatch, with a good subset of weapons available appropriate for this size map.
There are enough health vials in the two outer sections to help you stay alive to reach the central area where the action happens. There you will find two much-needed large health packs and a quick-spawning armor vest in the lava underneath this area. The slow-moving molten rock looks great underpinning the entire level, and the glass sections of floor in the central area are a welcome feature to allow players to check and see if the vest has spawned. In risking the trip below to retrieve it, players will likely take between 10 and 20 points of damage crossing the hot magma, but with a few well-timed hops it is possible to retrieve the vest without taking any damage.
When surrounded by players after spawning in the periphery of the map, I often found myself wishing I could escape through the nearby doors to adjoining Sectors A4 and 65 🙂 Thanks again to Steve for providing UT4 players the best quality maps available. We hope to enjoy more like this in the future!

Fun little map for quick action. Interesting having the armor in the middle of a lava pit. I like these small maps for rocket arena too!

I played the map a few times (thanks again Steve!). It looks awesome, good for 2-4 players. I especially like the transparent floor. The geometry is simple and you don’t need a lot of time to know where all the pickups are, and they are easily accessible. It made me think of the map Training Day, a closed corridore where you meet your opponents often. The games are very intense because of the high chance of running into each other. Good you did not put a Redeemer or Damage Amplifier in there, then it would be overkill.
Anyway, I am sure it smells in there, with the hot lava and the temperature producing sweat smelling active geared up players:)

full of action. now i don’t die off the edge. well unless i stay down there and burn. good design there makes it more playable. nice transparent floors. adds depth. great work.
