Story / Histoire

A mysterious bacteria suddenly appeared and grew at lightning speed in this chemical plant under renovation, leaving traces of liquefied metal everywhere. Pumps 1 & 2 could not be completed. A state of emergency has been declared and the plant is being investigated by health and scientific teams.

Une mystérieuse bactérie est soudainement apparue et s’est développée à une vitesse fulgurante dans cette usine de produits chimiques en pleine réfection, laissant des traces de métal liquéfié partout. Les pompes 1 & 2 n’ont pu être terminées. L’état d’urgence a été enclenché et l’usine est en cours d’investigation par les équipes sanitaires et scientifiques.

Details

Layout ; This level consists of a main room with several floors (DM-Deck style) where the engines and pumps are and two other adjacent rooms connected by different tunnels. Simple in design but fun 😀

Gameplay ; 2 pairs of boots are located to the lowest floor. Boots are required to reach the Bezerk. There are also many places that can be accessed by performing liftjumps or using the boots. This level includes all armor, all weapons and all powerups (Bezerk, Invisibility, KEG and UDamage). It was a lot of work getting bots to navigate this level efficiently and use lifts properly.

Visuals ; This level uses the same assets as in CTF-Infiltrate. However, several assets were never used and others have been added. Since these assets are to much underused for my taste, I choose a DM this time in order to create something different that is closer to Epic Infiltrator demo in terms of visuals. I had to use a lot of imagination to create a master material that would allow me to obtain grooves and streaks on all vertical surfaces and a very dirty look on horizontal surfaces. Whether concrete or metal, there is no redundancy.

The level feature the awesome music track ‘Seeker’ by Necto Ulin coming from his Unreal Tournament 99 remixes album.

Note, for all my levels I use Temporal AA since it offers the best visuals.
