To start with, I’m very happy to have been able to build a complete level with the few static meshes included in the Spaceship interior environment set. At first, I thought I would just create a small room with these meshes and not a full level since this pack, while the meshes are visually awesome, is extremely limited in terms of the amount and variety of meshes.
Certainly, from sector to sector, things are similar but I still tried, to the best of my ability, to create an environment that does not seem too redundant but which nevertheless stands out with its own style, a mixed environment of new dirty sci-fi meshes and reused rock meshes (with material changes) and the varied but harmonious color palettes.
On the playability side, this level is fun. I categorize this level as an FFA (Free For all Arena). The placement of items may seem odd at first, however, everything has been thought of to balance the available weapons, armor and health as best as possible. The items are placed so as to respect the basic rules of risk vs reward.
You can’t use the translocator to translocate in the mid field or other platforms in the center of the level, thinking you can collect the UDamage + 100 + 50 armor + hitscan ammo in few seconds. This would result in lazy camping players that would dominate the level all the time, ending in boring, dull, unfair gameplay. In short, move your ass 😉
The level feature the excellent custom music track Save me (TMX Remix) by TheMultiX PGDM. A really great UT remake that will get you in the mood to kick some butts!
Note, for all my levels I use Temporal AA since it offers the best visuals.
Such a nice place to make even more decal stay beauty!
May I suggest some more scattered box’s to breakup longshots some, it’s looking like a sniper’s dream from some corners 😉

THX bud 😀
Yep, I plan to add more crates here and there later and possibly some pillars to break some LOS. But there will be areas that advantage hitscan weapon too, I think you will like that lol 😉

I like the new map. I think it would generate more interest among DM pubbers if they could cross through the center of the map. Feels like untapped potential in the map layout.

Cool 😀
Nope, in the contrary, this would result in poor gameplay. You must play the map few times to get the feel of it and understand why this is there and why that isn’t doable for maintaining players movement.

Nice map Steve! Again a pearl of a map in the collection! Played it yesterday. Still have a lot to exploit. Liked the open space in the middle, where you can aim at your opponents at the other side (sniper!). I tried to get in the middle with the translocator, but as I read here is not possible 😮

Hi,
The checksum from the local file (public one from UTCC) is :
fd8974cdf82429d46dbbb292ddd5b871 and on UTCC is
fd8974cdf82429d46dbbb292ddd5b871 which is the same mentioned in the introduction.
I play with this map since months and your the only one so far who have this problem. I suggest you redownload it and let me know if it’s fixed 🙂

Hi, for DM-ObleviaP1 for exemple, the MD5 is OK (check the MD5 on the screenshot) : https://i.ibb.co/M9pMXj9/oblevia-P1-MD5.png
for DM-Sarr, i download five times, and the checksum is always the same : 7A0CCAE0D7CFA382EF459CF804BEFD4F
you can see on the screenshot : https://i.ibb.co/CKKnKVm/DM-Sarr-MD5checksum.png
Unfortunatly, the game crash and does’t launch when i put this map.
I installed the others, and i have no problem with them.
Maybe the problem is on my side ?

Hello Samir,
This my friend is VERY, VERY odd?
My local file as this ash : fd8974cdf82429d46dbbb292ddd5b871
My backup file as this ash : fd8974cdf82429d46dbbb292ddd5b871
The ini file on UTCC as this ash : fd8974cdf82429d46dbbb292ddd5b871
Which is normal because it is the unique and only file I upload on UTCC. BUT…
I downloaded the file from UTCC to make a check based on your pick and guess what… I have the same ash as you, WTH?!!! I never upload another version on UTCC so I have no idea where that ash come from. First time I see this unexplained bug 😮
I’ll reupload the file so it will be available in few mins. THX for letting me know and come back to tell me if the problem is solved 🙂
EDIT
The just uploaded the file on UTCC and it give me the exact same problem after download it! Same odd ash that come out from nowhere??? I’m reopening the editor for a map recook and then I’ll upload it on UTCC after a play test.
EDIT 2
Playtest is fine. Upload on UTCC done. I re-redownload the file and the ash is good now. I update my map page and readme with the latest info.
Have fun 😀

THX for your compliments, I really appreciate 😀
It’s always satisfying to know players are still enjoying the game by playing hobbyist made levels! Come and post more often, so I can have players feedback 🙂

As satisfiying as seeing this map which already looked good, now looks even better! 😀
Another interesting thing noticed is that the latest (AMD)GPU drivers seem to have caught up and holds 60fps.
